Personal Injury Lawyers

We handle the insurance companies, the paperwork, and the negotiations while you focus on getting better. Car crashes, dog bites, falls, and wrongful death. Free consultation. No fee and no costs unless we recover.

What we do

A lawyer on your side of the table

After an injury, the other side’s insurance company has adjusters and lawyers whose job is to pay as little as possible. Montanez Yu puts a lawyer on your side of that table. We investigate what happened, gather the evidence, document your injuries and losses, and deal with every insurer involved.

We represent people hurt in car, truck, and motorcycle crashes, dog bites, and slips, trips, and falls, including serious injuries such as brain and spinal cord injuries, and families with wrongful death claims. If a fair settlement is not offered, we are prepared to go to court.

How it works

What happens after you call

01

Free consultation

Tell us what happened. We review your situation, explain your options, and answer your questions, at no charge and with no obligation to hire us.

02

Investigation

We collect the police or incident report, photos, witness statements, and medical records, and identify every insurance policy that may apply.

03

Documenting your losses

We track your medical bills, lost income, and the ways the injury has changed your daily life, so nothing is left out of the claim.

04

Negotiation, or court

We present a documented demand to the insurers and negotiate. If they will not pay a fair amount, we are prepared to file suit and try the case.

Common questions

Personal injury questions

What does it cost to hire you?

Nothing up front. Our contingency fee is a percentage of what we recover, set out in a written agreement before any work begins, and we advance the costs of the case. No fee and no costs unless we recover.

What can I recover?

Depending on the case, compensation can include past and future medical bills, lost wages and lost earning capacity, property damage, and pain, suffering, and other non-economic losses.

How long do I have to file?

In California, most personal injury claims must be filed within two years. Claims against a city, county, or other public entity generally require a written claim within six months. Evidence fades, so it is better to call early.

Should I talk to the other side’s insurer?

Get medical care and keep your records, photos, and bills, but do not give a recorded statement or sign a release before speaking with a lawyer. Call (951) 444-7407 for a free consultation.
