Robert focuses on representing personal injury victims. As a Riverside native, Robert knows and loves the county that he has lived in his entire life.

Jay represents injured people in personal injury cases, with a particular focus on clients who have suffered brain injuries, and leads the estate planning practice at Montanez Yu, where he personally designs and drafts each client's living trust, will, and related documents. A Southern California native who lived overseas for close to a decade, Jay serves a diverse clientele with care, compassion, and confidence.

The most common complaint people have about lawyers is that they cannot reach them. Many of our clients came to us after struggling to get a call back from a previous lawyer, so we built our practice around fixing that.
At Montanez Yu, you deal directly with your attorney. We return calls and emails, explain what is happening in plain English, and tell you what comes next before you have to ask. Every matter gets the personal attention of a small firm, from the first conversation until it is closed.
We handle two kinds of work: personal injury cases for people hurt through someone else’s carelessness, and estate planning for individuals and families who want their affairs in order. Consultations for both are free, and we serve clients in English and Spanish.

About our firm
What does a personal injury case cost?
Nothing up front. No fee and no costs unless we recover. The percentage and how costs are handled are set out in a written fee agreement before we begin.
What does an estate plan cost?
Estate plans start at $2,000 for individuals and $2,500 for married couples. The fee is flat and quoted in writing before any work begins, and the consultation is free.
Do I have to come to the office?
Usually not. Estate planning clients can work with us from anywhere in Southern California, and injury clients can meet with us by phone or at the office.
